Busy, busy busy!

Wow, I am exhausted!
The last 2 weeks have been busy and hectic with Bear having his 12 month immunisations (only 2 months late!) and suffering almost all the common reactions. Then Button also caught a cold which has now made its way to hubby and I! Both have been little troopers though and smiled through it all.
Today is the first day of school holidays and Tashabel and I gave her bedroom a detox and mini-makeover (new curtains and doona cover). I wish I had taken some before pics, but I'll try to get some afters once I have made her some new cushion covers.

Planning for Button's 3rd Birthday is well underway. She is in love with Lalaloopsy and although I'm not a huge fan of mass produced toys that seem to have an endless amount of merchandise that goes along with it all, these dolls are quite sweet. Each is a rag doll that magically came to life when their last stitch was sewn and has his or her own personality based on the fabric they were made from. Plenty of work to be done, I'm busy gathering ideas on Pinterest (you can see my board here Tilly's 3rd Birthday)

I also need to get my butt into gear as I'm so behind on many sewing projects and bits and pieces for the kids. I have been making these photo's for Button's birthdays and still need to do one for Bear. I just have to decide which picture to use!

I also made Tilly a little story about her for her first birthday and have stared Hamish's but so much to do still!
Guess I better get to work!

Sorry Blog!

I'm sorry for neglecting you little blog. ..

It has been a long time since my last (ahem, second) post, but I have my two little one who have been keeping me busy busy busy!! Since my last post we have celebrated little Bear's first birthday! Cannot believe he is now 14 months old!

We had a lovely party in the local park with family and friends, it was a bit overcast but thankfully the rain held off until it was time to pack up. We themed it cookies and milk and based the colour scheme on a blanket I used to take monthly photos of him on.

Mmm, milk...

Inspiring Ladies

Nellie & Dot....

Nellie is my maternal grandma (Granny, or G.G) who taught me to crochet (unfortunately I have now forgotten how) and nurtured my faith in the Lord. She is a wonderful lady, who has lead an amazing life (ah, the stories she has from her army days) and I love her dearly.

Dot was my paternal grandma (Gran) who sadly passed away in 2010. She was also an amazing little lady who made the most amazing chocolate cakes for our birthday each year and chocolate chip cookies that are making my mouth water just thinking about them! She was such a quiet soft spoken lady who was fiercely independent. I miss her.

First post!

I'm finally getting around to writing my first blog post! Its something I've been meaning to do for a long long time, but its amazing how quickly time flies, especially when you're busy running after kids!
A bit about me, I am a secondary science teacher, currently on family leave (thank you Victorian Government for giving me 7 years!). I have two beautiful kids, Miss Matilda (Tilly), who is 2 and a half and Hamish-Bear (almost 10 months). I also have a wonderful step-daughter, Tashabel who lives with us full time and absolutely adores her little sister and brother.

A small basic quilt I made from a couple of charm packs of reproduction 1930's prints. My first quilt!

I have a passion for all things crafty, sewing is my utmost favourite (and embroidery). I also love to bake and this year must learn how to knit and crochet.
In 2009 I met a beautiful mum at my mums group and we have since started a small business together advocating the use of modern cloth nappies.
Hmm, after reading over this, I wonder how I'll have time to keep up with it?
